Saving Water, One Wash at a Time

Every drop tells a story. High in the mountains, glaciers have stood as silent sentinels of time, storing the Earth’s freshwater and quietly feeding rivers that sustain millions. But today, these icy giants are shrinking, melting away at an alarming rate. The consequences are far-reaching: floods, droughts, and rising sea levels threaten communities, ecosystems, and industries that rely on stable water sources.

This year, on World Water Day 2025, the world unites under the theme “Glacier Preservation“’, a call to action to protect these critical freshwater reserves. At Electrolux Professional Group, we recognize the urgency of this challenge and are taking steps to help businesses reduce their environmental impact, one wash at a time.

Small changes with a big difference

We switched to using R290 gas as our main refrigerant to limit the environmental impact of our appliances and produce less of a harmful effect on their components. R290 has a significantly low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just three and an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero, making it the perfect alternative to traditional refrigerants.

On top of this, R290 doesn’t need to be combined with other chemical compounds, which can prolong the life of products. This change has reduced the CO2 produced by our myPRO Heat Pump Dryers by 99.98%.

They are also designed to last three times longer than domestic machines, consistently delivering quality results with maximum convenience.

Substantial savings

On World Water Day, it’s only right that we outline the importance of water saving with laundry appliances. Our Line 6000 Washers with ClarusVibe Control feature a unique Automatic Savings program to ensure that only the necessary volume of water is used in line with the weight of the load.

The machine’s smart Power Balance technology also delivers the lowest possible water retention rate, saving time and money throughout the entire process. Combined with an extraction speed of just 450G, a Line 6000 washer consumes as little as 6L of water per kg of laundry – more than half compared to a machine from two decades ago.

Our Line 6000 Barrier Washers also give businesses the chance to reduce water consumption by 50%. This can be achieved when fitting a washer with a second drain valve, which allows for the recovery and reuse of water, optimizing overall consumption in the process.

Eco-friendly detergents

We are also dedicated to the transition to eco-friendly detergents which, today, are the natural choice to clean all linen and textiles. Our Line 6000 eco-range detergents have been developed to offer high quality, safety and effectiveness throughout the laundry process, ensuring minimal low environmental impact.

Ecolabel certified, dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic, our detergents are both gentle to the environment and ensure a business’s operation remains effective and profitable.

Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future

At Electrolux Professional Group, we believe every action counts. By continuously innovating and adopting sustainable solutions, we empower businesses to minimize their environmental footprint while maintaining top-tier efficiency.

As we mark World Water Day 2025, we stand with those who are working to preserve glaciers, reduce carbon emissions, and conserve the planet’s most precious resource. Because when we save water, we don’t just cut costs – we protect the future.

So, the next time you start a wash cycle, remember: every drop has a story. Let’s make sure it’s a story of sustainability.
