The Roadhouse Drive-in concept became popular in the early 40’s in America and a few years later in South Africa. It has not stopped growing in popularity ever since.
The establishment, where the original Burger Box Roadhouse is today, began sixty years ago in Krugersdorp, Gauteng Province, South Africa. It was a fast food store in the 50’s and became a roadhouse in the 60’s. During the 1980’s it took the name Burger Box and evolved into the business it is today, tells George Yiotopoulos, owner of the Burger Box Franchise.
With 4 branches now operating in Krugersdorp, Centurion, Benoni and Pretoria West, the Burger Box brand is spreading its wings in South Africa.
At Burger Box, George Yiotopoulos and his team aim to be the consumer’s first choice for a meal and to keep on delivering products of outstanding quality by continually expanding their menu by including new recipes that satisfy a variety of tastes. All of that is possible thanks to a great team and a line-up of the powerful Electrolux Professional 900XP series of cooking equipment incorporating 4 highly efficient gas burners, 2 large grills, a fryer and a versatile cooking top.
