Good Design Award joins the Grands Prix Du Design gold award in the High Speed Oven’s growing list of accolades
Electrolux Professional’s compact, high-speed cooking solution, GourmeXpress, has received the prestigious Good Design Award in the category of Kitchen + Appliances.
Established in 1957, Good Design Award has come to be recognized as an industry benchmark for cutting-edge product design across a number of categories for more than 60 years. The mark is synonymous with both reliability and problem-solving through design, with winning products acknowledged for their innovation.
Introduced at the Internorga Trade Show in Germany last year, GourmeXpress completes Electrolux Professional’s family of high-speed cooking solutions, alongside the established SpeeDelight.
Combining three cooking technologies – convection, microwave, and impingement – into a single, compact footprint, GourmeXpress forms the perfect tabletop kitchen partner for food service chains and independents. Alongside its sister appliance, it is also highly suited to quick-service operations at railway stations, airports, and hotel cafés.
The oven is capable of producing regenerated meals such as lasagna within a matter of minutes, and is easily operated though a wide selection of programmable menus. For energy-conscious operators, the built-in Energy Saving Mode consumes as little as 0.5kW per hour.
GourmeXpress marries innovative features with a modern, minimalist design that puts ergonomic operation at its heart. The appliance features a full-width glass panel and tubular steel handle, with the combination of glass and metal elements making the oven both highly hygienic and easy to clean.
Prominent branding and elegant colors complete a sleek aesthetic that is at home in a variety of settings. In the appliance’s construction, the use of sustainable materials such as glass and steel has been prioritized, with minimal use of plastic components.
“GourmeXpress is the perfect fusion of design and functionality. Its strength lies in its simplicity, resulting in an unparalleled level of adaptability that lends itself to any kind of kitchen or front-of-house environment,” said Michele Cadamuro, Chief Design Officer at Electrolux Professional.
The appliance is also ventless, further contributing to its compact look. No need for a hood also allows GourmeXpress to be placed anywhere within the working environment.
“Looking at GourmeXpress, both the shape and lines of the appliance tells you exactly what to expect from it: high-performance, ease-of-use, and most of all, reliability. Balancing these factors is not always easy, but GourmeXpress should stand as the example, as evidenced by Good Design Award,’ concluded Leandro Lapietra, Product Designer Hot & Cold Category at Electrolux Professional.
