Rauman Lukko – top hockey, at the top of the league
Rauman Lukko is an ice hockey club founded in 1936. The representative team of Rauman Lukko plays ice hockey at the major league level.
“Our team consists of 30 players. The number of trainings varies slightly depending on the amount of the games; there are 2-3 games and 4-6 trainings per week,” says Juho Rakkolainen, Equipment Manager of the Rauma Lukko league team, and continues: “We have won the Finnish ice hockey championship twice, having three silver medals and six bronze medals in top of that. Currently the semifinals are running and we are holding the first position. Expectations are very optimistic also about the rest of the games during this season.”
Professional hockey meets professional laundry
Smooth laundry operations play a big role in the everyday life of Rauman Lukko. The team’s training and game clothes are washed after every event.
“Training laundry is washed at least twice a day. A total of 20-30 loads of laundry are washed weekly – such as players underwear, game socks, training shirts, game shirts, towels, some equipment, and work clothes,” describes Matti Koskinen, another Equipment Manager of Rauman Lukko.“We wash 20-30 loads of training and game laundry every week”
